When people are trying to insult someone what they actually do, is assume on the person's weaknesses and insecurities and through those attempt to belittle their existence. An insult is usually an aim to reduce the social status of the receiver and raise the one of the 'insulter'.
Unfortunately for those small souls, the verbal ventures seeking to downgrade me can rarely, if never succeed. One must really know my character and personality to know where my weaknesses are and there aren't many people out there who can claim that rank. Not that I am immune to insecurities, but they certainly do not lye in the skirts of my ancestors. So, next time someone decides to call me an Eastern European, but refers to more than Geography, should at least be able to elaborate on the meaning of it, since by that moment I have already established that knowledge or logic won't be the ruling forces of that conversation.
A quote from Buddha comes to mind and I can't help but to smile at it :
"If someone gives you a gift and you refuse to accept it, to whom does the gift belong?"
Be proud of who you are.....and don't forget to smile !
