Hundred reasons to be happy
Travelling escort, escort London
If there is one thing that can unify 100 reasons to be happy, it would definitely be travelling. It is the best remedy for any mental or physical exhaustion and the best way to appreciate our homes, our friends and our lives. Stepping outside the circle of love and the familiar comfort, often remind us the importance of having stability, family and friends. Being thrown into unexpected circumstances while travelling tests our resilience and ability to function as the well-rounded individuals we claim to be.
Travelling also offers us the opportunity to step outside of our well-worn, self-constructed, plebeian reality and provides us with a platform to explore and practice our ideal visions for ourselves - who we might be if we weren't married to our fears, safety anxieties, security and status.
The healthy exchange
Many people believe that travelling is only a privilege for the wealthy. They often obsess with the cost of flights, hotels and restaurant food while rushing to buy every new gadget on the market and surround themselves with useless clutter. Staying captive to this possession driven society, throws many into despair and debt only to realise that the happiness provided by new material possessions is really short-lived. Exchange your hard earned money for memorable experiences instead. No one can take those away from you, they don't create clutter and you can wear the smile from your memories every day, non like the expensive (already last season) suit.
Take advantage of a Travel Companion
Every travel is a marvel, but imagine if you can add up to the joy of discovering new places, cultures and foods...The only way you can turn a great travel adventure into your best travel adventure is to share it with someone who would keep you smiling, gleeful and amused.
The sunrise is always lovelier with someone to hold, the hotel breakfast always tastier with someone's smile, the history of any place more compelling with someone knowledgeable, the sightseeing more memorable with someone to hold your hand, the view more mesmerising with someone leaning on your shoulder, the wine more delicious and the nights more intimate and romantic with someone who is there just for you.
My most recent pleasure quest
Despite the travel chaos caused by the weather over the past two weekends, I've really managed to travel safely and have the time of my life. I travelled to Porto and the city gifted me with as much excitement and smiles as I could handle. Every trip breeds new energy in me. It completely over-turns my emotions and transforms me into my most cheerful, delightful self. There is magic waiting to be discovered in every new destination and it never fails to touch my heart in exactly the right moment. This trip was literally a dream come true. It was a cold and gloomy November day (2019), I've spent refusing to give in to my rusty mood and instead daydreaming of trip to Porto. I was looking at pictures, researching hotels and museums and imagining the taste of the vintage port wine, when a friend called me and I shared my daydream. Now, thanks to my very Special friend, Porto is no longer a dream. Porto is a reality and one of the best trips of my life.
Thank you!

I've created a short and hopefully useful guide for everyone who would like to travel to Porto. Enjoy!
The Best of Porto
Port wine

The Port wine cellars are probably what Porto is most famous for. Even though the Port wine is produced in the vineyards of Douro Valley, until the 80's this fortified drink had to be aged in the cellars of Porto. Therefore the wine became known worldwide from the place it had to be aged, bottled and shipped from: Porto.
Even if you are not a Port wine lover, visiting the cellars is a must. The amount of ancient barrels lying there is beyond impressive. I can recommend Taylor's as one of the oldest Port wine houses established in 1692. The tour is well curated and informative and you don't need to pre-book as it is audio-guided. I particularly enjoyed tasting the Aged Tawnies. Another lovely wine house is Calem, you can also enjoy your wine with a Fado performance.
Azulejoz tiles

Another one of Porto's highlights is definitely the beautiful azulejos tiles. The purpose of the tiles is protecting the facades of buildings against humidity, but the artistry of the scenes and patterns, and the bright blue hues makes them a magnificent attraction.
The most famous azulejos tiles in Porto are covering the exteriors of the churches, as well as the atrium of the São Bento train station.
Ribeira

Ribeira is a popular neighbourhood in Porto. It is one of the most authentic and picturesque parts of the old town and home to the double-decker Dom Luis I bridge - the icon of the city. The famous bridge spans the River Douro linking the Port wine houses of Vila Nova de Gaia with the bustling downtown district.
The narrow, cobbled streets of Ribeira are dotted with small bars and eateries serving classic Portuguese food. Besides the lovely views of the Douro River, you can observe the Praça da Ribeira square, with it's colourful 18th-century townhouses, the neoclassical landmark, Palácio da Bolsa, known for its ornate interiors and see the artifacts at Casa do Infante.
Lello Library

Livraria Lello is one of the world's oldest and most beautiful bookstores in the world, and a top place to visit in Portugal.
The bookstore itself, excluding the building that now houses it, originated in the international bookstore of Ernesto Chardron, founded in 1869 in Rua dos Clérigos. In 1894, after several acquisitions, the bookstore reached the hands of the Lello family. The Lello brothers started looking for a space where they could build a bookstore from scratch, and in 1906 the Lello bookstore was born, precisely where it is now, at the beginning of Rua das Carmelitas. The style of the building itself which was absolutely ground-breaking, as well as the fact that it was the city’s first architectural structure built with reinforced concrete. A real luxury to nineteenth-century’s eyes, a charm that has lasted until today.
The bookshop is also believed to have inspired J.K. Rowling when she was writing the first book in the Harry Potter series.
Fado

'Fado music is a form of Portuguese singing that is often associated with pubs, cafés, and restaurants. This music genre officially originated in Portugal around the 1820s, though it is thought to have much earlier origins. Fado is known for how expressive and profoundly melancholic it is. In fado music, the musician will sing about the hard realities of daily life, balancing both resignation and hopefulness that a resolution to its torments can still occur. It can be described by using the Portuguese word “saudade,” which means “longing” and stands for a feeling of loss. This loss is generally permanent and of long-term consequence. Fado music often has one or two 12 string guitars, one or two violas, and sometimes a small 8 string bass.' (https://portugal.com/portuguese-music/fado-soul-portuguese-music)
I enjoyed Fado and dinner at Casa da Mariquinhas and can definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to experience authentic Portuguese atmosphere, food and music.
Crystal Palace Gardens

Without a doubt the best views of Porto, even on a foggy day. The Crystal Palace of Porto, inspired by London’s Crystal Palace, was built to host the International Exhibition of Porto, with over 4,300 exhibitors from 25 countries. The exhibition was inaugurated in 1865 and although a success, the dream of the founders to attract the finest European minds, never realised. If you are visiting the gardens, you can also check out the Romantic Museum.
Best Hotels in Porto

If you would like to be right in the action and within a walking distance of all attractions then
Pestana Vintage Hotel will be your best choice. It is an absolute value for money. The view from the room is magnificent day and night, and the staff super helpful and friendly. Unfortunately not the best place for vegans or vegetarians.

For the ultimate luxury experience, I can recommend The Yatman. The Yeatman is a luxury wine hotel and spa with spectacular views over the UNESCO World Heritage city and the Douro River, and it is widely regarded as the best hotel in Porto. It is also next door to all the Port wine Houses. Enjoying the sunset from your own room with a nice dinner, glass of wine and a beautiful partner is undeniably the most romantic experience you can have.
If there was an award for the friendliest city and nicest people in Europe,
then Porto will be the undisputable winner!
....according to Moi :)
Happy Travels Everyone.....and don't forget to smile!
